‘The Common enemy’, A commencement address delivered by Miss Dorothy Macardle

While in the US in spring 1939, Macardle was invited to give the commencement address at Mills College, Oakland, California and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. Macardle’s commencement speech was entitled ‘The Common enemy’ and dealt with issues of poverty, disease and crime. (Lane, 2019)
